Florida runner Dareyon Chance updates season
All purpose running back Dareyon Chance from Ft. Lauderdale (FL) has had an up and down season and recently returned to the field after an ankle injury forced him to miss three games. Dareyon's Cardinal Gibbons team has posted a 5-2 record so far and with three games left in the season, Dareyon is looking to get back into form and gain momentum heading into the playoffs. Last week in his first game back from injury, Dareyon rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns.
"It was good to get back out on the field and I felt great out there, the past three weeks were really tough having to watch my teammates play but I'm glad to be back" said Chance.
Chance is hearing from a host of schools and has collected offers from Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo, and Florida Atlantic. Right now Chance is very high on the Chippewas and CMU remains one of his favorites. Head coach Butch Jones and wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni have been in frequent contact with Dareyon and keeping tabs on his senior season.
"I like CMU a lot; I'm planning to visit the university sometime in December or early January. I've also talked to the coaches and we're just trying to plan a good time to make the trip up"
Dareyon has been checking up on the CMU season and stays updated through the internet and recently was able to see the CMU-WMU game on a replay.
"It's tough to catch the games down here in Florida, but I make sure to try and see the games or at least stay updated through the internet."
One thing Dareyon is a little curious about are the Michigan winters and seeing snow for the first time.
"I've heard stories about the winters up there, but I know I wouldn't mind playing in the cold and it's just something you have to adjust to."
Dareyon does know a couple of current Chippewas from the same Ft. Lauderdale area in Ronnie Kennedy and John Carr so a transition, to Michigan wouldn't be eased by the familiarity of them
"I've talked to those guys a couple times and we played against each other the past couple years, it is nice though to have a couple on a team that you know" said Chance.
