AUBURN -- Was this the best-case scenario?
If not, the Tigers' 2013 signing class certainly is close so far. Coach Gus Malzahn and his staff showed that haste doesn't necessarily make waste, pulling together a group of newcomers that matched even the most optimistic supporter's aspirations.
The highlight was easy: Montravius Adams, the five-star defensive tackle, unveiled his air-brushed Auburn shirt before a live audience on ESPNU. Did that really happen? Did yet another star tackle from Georgia cast his lost with the Tigers?
It did. For a third consecutive year.
Adams may be Auburn's most important signee for his potential ability to close down the 'A' gaps favored by so many Southeastern Conference rushing attacks. The Tigers' run defense needs serious help - and Adams appears tailor-made to provide immediate assistance.
