EVANSTON-In many occupations it can take decades to go from the new guy on the totem pole to the top spot on the seniority list. Redshirt junior linebacker Quentin Davie did it in just a year.

In 2008 Davie was the newcomer among the starting linebackers, playing alongside veterans Prince Kwateng and Malcolm Arrington. This season, however, Davie is the elder statesman among the entire unit, teaching the younger guys the starting lineup the tricks of the trade.
