The Corsicana (TX) Navarro Bulldogs took over the top spot in the JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 rankings with a 23-20 win over Brenham (TX) Blinn College on Saturday. The previous top three teams in the rankings all fell from the ranks of unbeaten, providing major shakeup in the race for the national title.

Navarro's defense was suffocating at times, forcing Blinn into a number of turnovers in the game. The offense was in high gear, racking up 504 yards in winning the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Southwest Junior College football playoffs. The Bulldogs will take on Kilgore College (4-5), a team they defeated 42-17 back in week four. Blinn fell to No. 8 in the rankings with the loss and will host No. 26 Tyler in the other semifinal.

Fort Scott (KS) Fort Scott College won a thriller over El Dorado (KS) Butler College in the Jayhawk Conference regular season title game when quarterback Dominique Davis scored from 1-yard out with 1:37 remaining on the clock for a narrow 14-10 win over the Grizzlies. The Greyhounds rolled up 421 yards of offense in the game, but it was the defense that forced four turnovers that made the difference. Fort Scott will now face No. 38 Hutchinson (KS) Hutchinson College in the semifinal round of the Jayhawk Conference playoffs. The Greyhounds defeated Hutchinson 31-0 back on September 26. Butler fell to No. 15 with the loss and will face No. 36 Coffeyville (KS) Coffeyville College in the other semifinal. The Grizzlies defeated the Red Ravens 30-14 on September 26.

Things took a serious turn in California, where previously unbeaten Torrance (Calif.) El Camino fell behind 21-7 at halftime in losing to Walnut (Calif.) Mt. San Antonio College, 42-26. The Warriors held a 336-270 advantage in total yardage but five turnovers proved costly to the previously undefeated team that fell to No. 5 for the week. Mt. SAC jumped up to No. 3 on the big board with its only loss coming in week four to No. 27 Saddleback. El Camino will take on Citrus College this weekend before facing undefeated No. 10 Cerritos College in the final week of the regular season. Mt. SAC will take on Cerritos this weekend before finishing against Chaffey College the following weekend.

City College of San Francisco suffered the same fate this past weekend when they lost a 30-24 nailbiter to San Mateo (Calif.) College of San Mateo. The Rams are still in the mix for the NorCal Conference crown as five teams from the conference are still rated in the top-31 teams in the nation. San Mateo moved up to No. 21 on the big board with the win, with its lone loss coming to No. 16 Los Altos (Calif.) Foothill College (28-27) last week. Foothill took over first place in the conference, but has yet to face CCSF or No. 28 Oroville (Calif.) Butte College. San Francisco fell to No. 11 in the rankings with the loss.

With a ton of big games coming up over the next month as many as 15-20 teams still appear to be in the hunt for the JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 national title. Previous winners of the prestigious crown include Glendale College (AZ) in 2005, Blinn College in 2006, Mississippi Gulf Coast College and Butler College (co-national champions) in 2007 and Butte College in 2008.
