JCGridiron.com - New Dirty 30 reflects little change

The first new set of rankings are out and reflect little change from the initial set of pre-season rankings in early July. The JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 went nearly untouched after a scant week of play.

The JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 had zero changes in the top 10 and very few changes of mention after a small slate of games on opening weekend. With many of the ranked teams playing against non-affiliated programs, only a couple of minor tweaks were made.

Butler County moved up one spot to No. 11 after making a mess of Dodge City on Saturday. The Grizzlies beat the Conquistadors 72-12 behind the strong play of quarterback Billy Cosh, who finished 20-of-27 for 315 yards and three scores.

Also moving up one spot was Navarro College, who blanked Arkansas Baptist 40-0 in moving up to No. 20. The Bulldogs played without their starting quarterback and went deep into the depth chart by the end of the game in anticipation of another big matchup this weekend.

Ft. Scott moved up one spot on the "Bubble" as they open the week at No. 32 in the country. The Greyhounds had a solid performance on defense in beating Highland 20-7, holding the Scotties to seven first downs and 35 yards on the ground.

Rochester moved up to No. 38 after a 68-8 blasting of Vermilion on Saturday. No stats were available following the game.

The entire country will kick into high gear this weekend as play opens up in California. Big games are on tap in the Golden State as well as crossover games between the Jayhawk and Southwest Junior College Football Conference and Midwest versus the Western States League.
