Two-way standout waiting for the cal

One of the biggest recruiting questions marks this season is why the lack of offers to running back/cornerback Terron Ward (5-7, 185, 4.4) from state champ Concord (Calif.) De La Salle. He was simply outstanding against Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw and was one of the reasons his team was victorious.

Ward plays at the same school that has produced D.J. Williams, Maurice Jones-Drew, Willie Glasper, Patrick Walsh, Terrence Kelly and Patrick Bates. All were outstanding high school running backs and Williams and Jones-Drew are currently playing on Sunday. Williams as a linebacker for the Denver Broncos and Jones-Drew as a running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Out of that outstanding group of running backs only one holds the single season record for rushing yards and the single game record and that player is Ward.
