Ward looking to make it happen

With Oregon State's history of finding kids that others may not have wanted and turning them into PAC-10 stars, it is no wonder the Beavers had Terron Ward on campus this weekend for an official visit. Ward, the most valuable player in the California Open Division State Bowl Game last month has yet to receive any offers but things appear to be heating up just a little bit for the diminutive running back.

Ward comes from Concord (Calif.) De La Salle High School so he knows success and discipline like no other and has the talent to be a college star. However, something is holding schools back from offering the star that set De La Salle's single season rushing record in his senior season.

The 5-foot-7 Ward can't seem to put his finger on it as his grades are as good as can be and he has a great work ethic on and off the field.

"You know, I can't really say what it is but for whatever reason, schools just haven't shown me much in terms of interest. Coach Riley said that he really likes me...
