At last, we’ve reached the postseason
With the regular season in the rear-view window the 2022 season has officially reached the postseason. At least eight programs appear to be remaining in the mix to win the 18th annual JCGridiron Dirty 30 National Title.
The NJCAA ranks have yet to announce the 2022 bowl schedule but the CCCAA ranks out west released its playoff and bowl schedule on Sunday. The Northern California (NCFA) playoffs will take place this weekend as No. 6 San Mateo will host No. 46 Modesto in one semifinal and No. 13 Laney will host No. 24 American River in the other. The Southern California (SCFA) playoffs will feature No. 2 Riverside City hosting No. 30 Ventura and No. 5 Fullerton hosting No. 3 Mt. San Antonio. The regional finals will take place the following weekend with a state championship game slated for December 10.
The NJCAA ranks are a bit more confusing. With no formula being announced or published, it is assumed the top four teams in the NJCAA Rankings will play in what is essentially a final four of sorts. The top four teams in the latest NJCAA Rankings were (in order) No. 1 Hutchinson, No. 7 Northwest Mississippi, No. 8 Iowa Western and No. 4 Coffeyville. There was one school that could throw a wrench into things when the new set of rankings are announced as No. 9 Snow was sitting fifth in the NJCAA Rankings and defeated No. 18 Lackawanna this past weekend. We’ll just have to wait and see when the bowl and playoff spots are finally announced.
Here is the rest of the JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings. Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings/records.
