Dirty 30 gets super shakeup
With half of the spring season in the books, the JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings had a massive shakeup this week. With nearly all of the California programs not playing, many of them have completely dropped out of the rankings.
We knew this was going to happen at some point because most of the programs had already decided they were not going to play because of COVID-19 protocols. Some of the names still exist, but they have dropped and will continue to fall out of the rankings as the spring schedule progresses. In addition, the teams on the bubble has been decreased from 25 to 10 as a result of the lack of programs playing a schedule.
For the rest of the teams still playing, there was a few minor changes. No. 5 Hutchinson had an unexpected cancellation this weekend and swapped spots with No. 4 Snow (4-0), who defeated ASA-Miami 27-6. Hutchinson (3-0) now has the biggest test of the season when they host No. 2 Garden City (4-0) this weekend having an extra week to prepare. Snow plays an unaffiliated contest against Gordon State College.
Kilgore (4-0) moved into the No. 8 spot after improving to 4-0 with a 52-38 win against Navarro. They will play at Tyler this weekend. The biggest surprise of the season in the SWJCFC may be Cisco, who moved up to No. 12 after improving to 3-0 with a 24-7 win against Trinity Valley. Cisco travels to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M this weekend.
A rematch is set in the Iowa ranks this weekend as No. 9 Iowa Western hosts No. 10 Iowa Central. The two teams played three weeks earlier and Iowa Western scored a pair of late touchdowns for a 34-20 win. Iowa Western (3-1) streaked past Arkansas Baptist this past weekend (45-0) while Iowa Central (2-1) demolished Ellsworth, 58-6.
Here is the rest of the updated JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings. The Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings.
