The regular season is finally over and only a handful of games remain, but some teams are making a surge in an attempt to claim the 17th annual JCGridiron Dirty 30 National Title. One such team is New Mexico Military, who cruised to a Southwest Junior College Football Conference title this past weekend.
New Mexico Military blasted Tyler 45-10 to claim both the regular season and tournament titles. The Broncos are now 10-1 overall and moved up two spots to No. 6 in the Dirty 30 Rankings as a result. NMMI’s lone setback was a careless 38-19 loss to Cisco in late October, which could derail their plans unless a lot of others give them some help. The Broncos are a likely candidate to be in the NJCAA Final Four when the pairings are announced after being ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Rankings a week ago.
Hutchinson jumped up two spots to No. 9 in the rankings after hammering Garden City, 49-19, in the Jayhawk title game on Sunday. The Blue Dragons battled back from a rough start to the season, winning their last five games and blasting everyone they saw in the Jayhawk Playoffs. Hutchinson is a long shot to make the NJCAA playoffs, but should end up with a solid bowl game when the pairings are announced.
The California playoffs are set in what should be an entertaining, 8-team bloodbath. Up in Northern California, No. 1 San Francisco will host No. 30 American River this weekend while No. 5 San Mateo will host No. 21 Fresno City. Down in Southern California, No. 3 Ventura will host No. 14 Riverside City while No. 11 Golden West will host No. 19 Canyons. Anything could happen.
The rest of the Dirty 30 Rankings follow. Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings.
In the rankings you will notice a number of characters next to the records, which indicate wins by forfeit. Due to COVID-19, a lot of games were forfeited in California due to stricter COVID-19 protocols and scheduling conflicts.
