No change at the top of Dirty 30

The top of the JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 Rankings remain the same as the season heads into the home stretch. State and division titles are up for grabs this coming weekend.

Out in Kansas, Garden City kicked a 39-yard field goal into a 30 MPH wind in the final seconds to defeat Hutchinson, 20-19. With the win, the Broncbusters are now one game away from an outright Jayhawk Conference title as they travel to No. 23 Butler this weekend. Garden City moved up to No. 7 in the rankings with the win over Hutchinson while the Blue Dragons dropped to No. 9.

The Mississippi title game is all set as No. 2 Gulf Coast will travel to No. 8 Northwest this weekend. Gulf Coast slapped aside No. 28 East Mississippi, 31-7, while Northwest won a close battle with No. 11 Jones, 24-17. If Gulf Coast wins, they are likely to play for the NJCAA title in December. Northwest entered last week at No. 10 in the NJCAA Rankings, but with five teams in front of them losing still has an outside shot at an NJCAA title if they can knock off the Bulldogs.

The Southwest Junior College Football Conference has two unlikely programs playing for their title this weekend after No. 32 Navarro upset No. 22 Trinity Valley, 26-24, and No. 36 New Mexico Military stunned No. 17 Kilgore, 20-10. The bowl options seem very cloudy for the SWJCFC teams next month with a 4-5 team playing a 4-4 team for the conference title this weekend.

The Minnesota ranks have a similar feel as No. 47 Itasca will face unranked Central Lakes for the title in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Itasca won a cliffhanger over No. 50 North Dakota State College of Science, 40-34, in overtime while Central Lakes streaked past Minnesota West, 35-6. The title game is set for Sunday at St. Cloud State University.

Out on the West Coast, top-ranked Riverside City, No. 3 College of San Mateo and No. 4 Saddleback are the only remaining unbeaten teams in the National Division and it’s very likely to remain that way this coming weekend. Riverside and Saddleback will do battle the following weekend in the Southern League final to determine the likely top seed in Southern California. San Mateo has Chabot this weekend followed by a big date with No. 15 San Francisco.
