No change at the top of Dirty 30

The 2023 season has a couple of weeks remaining in the regular season and the biggest games of the season will happen in the next few weeks. The top teams remained dominant, with playoffs and championships just around the corner.

Hutchinson remains at No. 1 despite a tough win over Highland this past weekend. The Blue Dragons turned back the Scotties 13-0, holding Highland to 135 yards of total offense. Hutchinson now travels to Independence this weekend before a massive showdown with No. 3 Iowa Western.

City College of San Francisco is right on Hutchinson’s heels, improving to 8-0 with a 56-0 whitewash of Diablo Valley this past weekend. The Rams have another sleepwalk this weekend when they travel to Chabot before a massive showdown at defending national champs, No. 8 San Mateo.

No. 4 Mt. San Antonio, No. 5 Riverside City and No. 6 Fullerton all remain undefeated and look pretty secure in landing a spot in the SoCal playoffs, which start in a few weeks. Mt. SAC plays at No. 43 Long Beach City this weekend before a showdown with No. 13 Golden West next weekend. Fullerton plays at No. 48 Saddleback this weekend before a showdown with Riverside City next weekend to determine the Southern League title.

The Mississippi ranks are a complete mystery, with the top-ranked squad being Copiah Lincoln College at No. 7 in the rankings. In conference play, both No. 12 East Mississippi and No. 21 Jones remain undefeated while four other programs have one loss. Gulf Coast comes in at No. 11 in the rankings while Northwest is No. 15 and Northeast is No. 22.

Kilgore College secured the title in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference with a 55-18 dismantling of Tyler this past weekend. The Rangers come in at No. 9 in the rankings and finish the regular season at Blinn this weekend. The SWJCFC then has a final four, round-robin tournament in the following weeks.
