The 2023 season has entered the second half and as many as 15 programs are still in the hunt for the JCGridiron Dirty 30 title. One more team dropped from the top-5 this past weekend.
City College of San Francisco continues to roll as they blasted San Joaquin Delta, 64-3, to start the second half of the season. The Rams will play at rival Laney College on Friday in the annual Towne vs. City matchup.
The Southern California ranks still have three in the top seven with No. 4 Mt. San Antonio, No. 5 Riverside City and No. 7 Fullerton. The toughest matchup for these three this week will be Mt. SAC traveling to No. 41 East Los Angeles. The other two should have a walk in the park.
The Mississippi ranks had another shakeup this past week when previous top-5 Gulf Coast went up in flames against Copiah-Lincoln, 28-21. Co-Lin is now sitting at No. 8 in the rankings while Gulf Coast dropped to No. 13. Jones is the top-ranked team from the Mississippi ranks at No. 6.
The Southwest Junior College Football Conference is a bloodbath, with No. 12 Trinity Valley, No. 20 Tyler and No. 21 Kilgore all sitting with one loss in conference play. Trinity Valley plays at Kilgore this weekend, which should sort out some of the madness. Tyler plays at No. 31 Cisco, who just dumped New Mexico Military over the weekend.
