The JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings has eliminated 10 more teams from the rankings for the 2020-21 season, meaning that any program that hasn’t played a game by now has been eliminated from the rankings altogether. The bubble section of the rankings has been scrapped for the rest of the spring, which included anywhere from 10-25 programs.
We’ve been telling you all spring that programs not playing will continue to fall in the rankings and eventually be eliminated. It officially happened this week as 10 more programs were dropped from the rankings completely. With only a handful of games being played all season in California, nine of the 10 teams dropped were from the Golden State with Georgia Military College being the other.
Among the ones still participating, Hutchinson College made the biggest jump this week with an impressive win against Garden City. The two squads swapped positions in the rankings, with Hutch jumping to No. 2 and Garden City falling to No. 5. Right on their heels is Independence (No. 7), who hosts Hutchinson this Sunday in a game with massive consequences. Another to watch from the Jayhawk Conference is Coffeyville, who jumped to No. 15 in the rankings with a last second win against Butler.
The top-ranked team from the Southwest Junior College Football Conference is Kilgore, who comes in at No. 8. The Rangers have a non-conference matchup against newby Southern Shreveport this Thursday before finishing against No. 10 Cisco and No. 16 Trinity Valley.
Iowa Western captured the Iowa crown this past weekend with an impressive 37-14 win against Iowa Central. The Reivers sit at No. 9 in the rankings and have a road trip to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M this weekend. Iowa Central fell to No. 13 with the loss.
The lone Independent remaining in the rankings is Snow, who comes in at No. 4 overall. The Badgers have been road warriors this spring with trips to Iowa and Pennsylvania in trying to find enough competition during a pandemic-thwarted season. Snow will travel to Iowa again the next two weekends to face Ellsworth and Iowa Central.
With only five out of 68 schools in California playing this past year, Shasta College (3-1) will end the season as the top-ranked program from the Golden State at No. 23.
Here is the rest of the updated JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings. Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings.
