The 2024 season is starting to wind down and close to a dozen programs are still in the hunt for the 20th annual JCGridiron Dirty 30 national title. Conference titles will be up for grabs in the coming weeks, which should eliminate quite a few.
The lone remaining undefeated team among the upper-tier programs is Mt. San Antonio College, who remains at No. 1 in the rankings. The Mounties (8-0) have a showdown this weekend when they host No. 5 Golden West College. It should be a can’t-miss game to watch.
Iowa Western is still in the No. 2 spot after dismantling Ellsworth over the weekend, 59-10. The Reivers finish the regular season at Highland on Saturday before awaiting a seed for the NJCAA playoffs.
If Mt. San Antonio gets through Golden West this weekend, they will be tested down the road by a red-hot Riverside City College team that comes in at No. 3 in the rankings. The defending co-national champs have arguably the best quarterback in the nation in Brady Jones, who has thrown 40 touchdowns and ran for another four. Riverside City finishes the regular season at No. 37 Fullerton before the Southern California playoffs.
Northwest Mississippi won a cliffhanger over Gulf Coast on Saturday to advance to the Mississippi state title game. The Rangers are at No. 4 in the rankings and now will travel to face a gritty East Central team that has risen to No. 9 in the rankings. The winner will likely head to the NJCAA final four while the loser is likely to see its season end.
The Northern California title is up for grabs in 2024. College of San Mateo is the highest ranked team at No. 7, but No. 10 Butte College, No. 12 Modesto Junior College, No. 14 Fresno City College and No. 23 American River College all appear to be in the mix for the three remaining playoff spots.
Georgia Military established itself as the top independent program in the nation this past week with a win over Lackawanna College. The No. 8 Bulldogs have one loss on the schedule to Iowa Western (42-41) in week two and appear to be in position to grab an NJCAA playoff spot. GMC was No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Rankings that came out last week. The Bulldogs have no more games on their schedule until the NJCAA playoffs.
The rest of the Dirty 30 Rankings follow. Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings.
