The Jones College Bobcats climbed all the way up to No. 3 in the latest JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings after an impressive 42-28 win over East Mississippi College. Jones only trailed for 20 seconds the entire game in making a statement.
Jones had 220 yards rushing in the game and held East Mississippi to 296 total yards in improving to 2-0 on the season. Robert Henry had a big day, rushing for 219 yards and three scores in the win. The Bobcats will travel to No. 32 Copiah-Lincoln on Thursday.
The biggest battle of the weekend took place up in Kansas where top-ranked Hutchinson survived a battle with previous top-5 Iowa Central, 31-28, in overtime. The Blue Dragons now get a week off to prepare for Coffeyville the following weekend. Iowa Central dropped to No. 6 in the rankings and will host Ellsworth this weekend.
Out west in California we are still waiting for someone to emerge as a dominant force. Riverside City moved up to No. 4 in the rankings with a 48-20 win over a decent Long Beach City squad. No. 5 City College of San Francisco handled business with a 30-10 win over Sacramento City. The biggest jump in the rankings came from San Diego Mesa, who came off the bubble to No. 24 after a 35-20 win against Ventura. College of the Canyons jumped a couple of spots to No. 11 after manhandling Southwestern College, 43-7. San Mateo moved up to No. 7 after beating a solid Sequoias squad, 45-21.
One of the bigger battles this coming weekend takes place in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference when No. 14 Kilgore hosts No. 8 New Mexico Military. Kilgore blasted NEO 41-0 this past weekend while New Mexico Military pulled out a squeaker over Navarro, 40-35. The winner of this one would seem to be the early leader in the clubhouse for the SWJCFC title in 2022.
Here is the rest of the JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings. Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings/records.
