The 2022 season is now in full force as most of the teams are approaching the halfway point of the season. None of the top-10 teams lost this week, providing very little movement at the top of the rankings.
One mover within the top-10 was New Mexico Military, who moved up to No. 4 after a come-from-behind win against Blinn this past Saturday. The Broncos are now 5-0 after scoring 14 straight points in the final quarter to turn back the Buccaneers, 24-21. NMMI now has a bye after a busy schedule to start the season.
The team that swapped spots with NMMI was Jones, who narrowly escaped with a 17-14 win against East Central on Thursday. The No. 6 Bobcats will now travel to No. 35 Hinds on Thursday.
Two programs out west are quickly rising up the rankings in College of the Sequoias and Cerritos College. Sequoias improved to 3-1 after dismantling Shasta College, 51-14. The Giants moved up to No. 16 in the rankings and will travel to No. 48 Diablo Valley on Friday. Cerritos is now 4-0 and ranked No. 17 after punishing Southwestern College, 63-24. The Falcons are 4-0 for the first time since 2010 and will host East Los Angeles College this weekend.
Another on the move to the big board was Long Beach City College after the Vikings defeated San Diego Mesa, 28-14. LBCC led 28-0 in the fourth quarter and moved up to No. 24 as a result. The Vikings will host No. 30 Golden West this weekend.
Five heavyweight matchups dominate the schedule this week. In the Mississippi ranks, No. 8 Northwest travels to No. 10 East Mississippi on Thursday. Out west, No. 5 San Mateo hosts No. 18 Butte. In the Jayhawk ranks, top-ranked Hutchinson will host No. 13 Butler. Independents #11 Snow and #14 Georgia Military will hook up in Utah this weekend. The last is a crossover game where No. 2 Iowa Western travels to No. 25 Independence.
Here is the rest of the JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings. Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not include games against club teams, prep schools, non-CCCAA, non-NJCAA or non-HJCAC programs in its rankings/records.
